Effective interfacial Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction and skyrmion stabilization in ferromagnet/paramagnet and ferromagnet/superconductor hybrid systems

چکیده

It is shown that a term in the form of Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction (DMI) contributes to free energy ferromagnetic (FM) film on paramagnetic (PM) (an FM above critical temperature ${T}_{c}$) or superconducting (SC) substrate occurring London limit. This contribution results from magnetostatic between and under which magnetization induces PM supercurrent SC interacts with their stray fields. Strikingly, FM/PM system this effective DMI stabilizes chiral magnetic textures, e.g., skyrmions (MSk's) N\'eel type, contrast FM/SC one. A strong sensitivity allows for tuning coupling thus controlling MSk radius FM/PM.

Controlling skyrmion helicity via engineered Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interactions.

Single magnetic skyrmion dynamics in chiral magnets with a spatially inhomogeneous Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction (DMI) is considered. Based on the relation between DMI coupling and skyrmion helicity, it is argued that the latter must be included as an extra degree of freedom in the dynamics of skyrmions. An effective description of the skyrmion dynamics for an arbitrary inhomogeneous DMI co...

Wide-Range Probing of Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya Interaction

The Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction (DMI) in magnetic objects is of enormous interest, because it generates built-in chirality of magnetic domain walls (DWs) and topologically protected skyrmions, leading to efficient motion driven by spin-orbit torques. Because of its importance for both potential applications and fundamental research, many experimental efforts have been devoted to DMI inves...

Hund's Rule-Driven Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya Interaction at 3d-5d Interfaces.

Using relativistic first-principles calculations, we show that the chemical trend of the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction (DMI) in 3d-5d ultrathin films follows Hund's first rule with a tendency similar to their magnetic moments in either the unsupported 3d monolayers or 3d-5d interfaces. We demonstrate that, besides the spin-orbit coupling (SOC) effect in inversion asymmetric noncollinear mag...

Simultaneous control of the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction and magnetic anisotropy in nanomagnetic trilayers.

Magneto-optical Kerr effect (MOKE) microscopy measurements of magnetic bubble domains demonstrate that Ar^{+} irradiation around 100 eV can tune the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction (DMI) in Pt/Co/Pt trilayers. Varying the irradiation energy and dose changes the DMI sign and magnitude separately from the magnetic anisotropy, allowing tuning of the DMI while holding the coercive field constant....

Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction in the paramagnetic state and the polarized neutron scattering

Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya (DM) interaction in the paramagnetic state leads to the incommensurate spin fluctuations with incommensurate vector proportional to the relative strength of the DM interaction. We show that the DM interaction leads to helical spin fluctuations which may be observed by the polarized neutron scattering.
